Gary Vician grew up in DuPage County. He and his family have lived in Naperville and Aurora.. His children have attended and graduated from District 204 Schools. He has served as a PTO member at May Watts, Hill Middle and Waubonsie High School. Part of his District 204 service included referendum and school boundary change committees. Gary attended Northern Illinois University for his undergraduate and a Masters degree. He received his doctorate in Leadership and Policy Studies from Loyola University of Chicago. As a career educator, Gary has taught in grade school, middle school, high school and community college. Dr. Vician also served as an assistant principal and as the First Assistant Regional Superintendent of DuPage County Schools. He has also been a volunteer tutor and taught Sunday school classes. Gary Vician has been involved in his community serving as a Junior Chamber, Naperville Chamber, Lions Club, Naperville Moose and Rotary. He is a Past President of the Buttonwood Homeowners Association and is currently serving as a board member on the Naperville Area Homeowners Association. He has a total of twenty years experience serving Township Trustee in two townships. Gary has served on the General Assembly's Citizen's Council for Children and on the Committee for Elementary and Secondary School Sports. He has coached children in soccer, football, basketball, volleyball, track, and been part of the Wheatland Athletic Association. Dr. Vician's educational background, training and experience resulted in him being a leader in the areas of budgets and personnel. Gary Vician has been honored to have the privilege to serve Naperville Township residents because Naperville Township has been a model for efficient and effective government in Illinois. |
